THE STREET OF CROCODILES
A garment-collection experiment informed by Olafur Eliasson’s fractal mirror screens for Wayne McGregor’s Tree of Codes, 2015. The ballet choreographically, sonically, scenically interprets Jonathan Safran Foer’s die-cut reworking of Bruno Schulz’s The Street of Crocodiles, a spatial object of a book. Eliasson translates the narrative’s physicality into rows of mirrored funnels and perforated light screens that fracture moving bodies into kaleidoscopic multiples.
In this experiment’s constellated darkness, fragmented forms splinter across layered tulle, staggered panels, doubled seams. Garments slip into shifting geometry. October–December 2022
